Madrigal 2012: A Stroll Among the City Lights

Happy Thursday everyone!

Here are finally the pictures from our winter formal, Madrigal. If you are feeling curious, there is a little more about the tradition here, but basically we have a dinner - where the faculty and staff serve us - and then a dance afterwards.

The lovely lady in red, is our good gal pal Alexa. Isn't she so gorgeous?

A few things that we learned during Madrigal:

1.) Being the first people on the dance floor is not awkward, it is awesome. You can run around and be completely crazy.

2.) Fancy clothes just make interactions with the opposite sex about 100X more awkward and nerve-racking.

3.) Amy can do Vogue model poses.

4.) You can have a blast without being intoxicated. (Well, we already knew that, but this night just reiterated that.)

5.) Thrifty fancy dresses are the best.

Amy:
Dress - Thrifted (originally H&M)
Headpiece - Gift from Ireland
Necklace - Gift
Bracelet - borrowed from Laura

Laura:
Dress - Thrifted
Necklace - Bazaar - it has British half pennies on it from the 60's!
Ring - Claire's - From a LONG time ago, probably middle or even elementary school
Shoes - I don't remember? I got them for a high school dance three years ago and haven't worn them since. They weren't thrifted though.

Well we are off to study for finals some more.

Which actually looks more a little like this

Have a great day, everyone!

xoxo,

Laura + Amy

You both look GORGEOUS! The black dress looks stunning on you, Laura, what a great find. I loved reading this, the part about talking to the opposite sex in fancy clothes being even more awkward made me laugh. So true. Good luck with finals!

You look amazing- love all you ladies in your finery. (oh, but why is it making your interactions with the fellows awkward? Clearly, they are just tongue-tied over your finery!)

I love getting on the dance floor firs too. Me and my guy love to surprise people by really dancing :)
