Giggling Through the Stacks

 Hey all!
Happy Tuesday!

Today's post is going to be short and sweet because it is mid-term week and I just added two more things to my "to-do list"--- I am so ready for Spring Break.

Amy and I took these in the library, being giggly the whole time because there were a lot of people  in there, who were looking at us in a "what are you doing" manner.

I am a fan of this outfit; it is super comfy, but yet still cute.

Well, time to get back to studying!

xoxo,
Laura

The Problem with Rompers

Happy Thursday everyone! Only one more day until the weekend! I know that mine is going to be super busy: catching up on some school work mostly. However, tomorrow night I am going to be showing off some thrifted wonderfullness in my school's Eating Disorder Awareness fashion show!

About 7 million women and 1 million men struggle with an eating disorder every year. Although I have never had an ED, like many young women, I have had my own personal issues with food and weight in the past.

Therefore, I am excited to have the opportunity to really get the word out on my campus about the damaging effects of eating disorders, while having a fun fashion show! For more information about eating disorders, click here.

Look how beautiful it was outside today! :)

On a more lighter note, I love this romper. I bought it at one of my favorite thrift stores, where every Monday all clothing is half off. Unfortunately, I was not there on a Monday. However, it was a Saturday, so I decided to try things on, "hide them", take the risk, and come back Monday morning. Then I found this! 90's Express. It makes feel like Topanga Lawrence. I had to buy it. I couldn't risk it being gone on 1/2 price day.

The only annoying thing is that it is a romper. With a zipper in the back. What were these people thinking?   I can't rush to the bathroom in this dress; I'll just leave it at that.

However, I think the cuteness is definitely worth it. :)

Past Purple Hair and Future Yard Sales

Hey everyone! Sorry, I have been MIA the past couple of days; I have been swamped with school work. I FINALLY got my Statistics take home test done. Ugh.

Anyway, enough about  complaining about school work, let's talk some about something  more fun! Like this sweater. :)

These pictures are actually from last semester, after my friends and I had a "hair dying party" and we all put different  color strips in our hair. I loved my purple strip. Its still in there, but its more pinkish blonde. I knew the purple would fade relatively fast, so I wanted to get cute pictures with it before it did.

Anyway, this sweater was actually from a free box at a yard sale this past summer. YEAH. Pretty awesome right? It has sequins!!!

Going to yard sales is definitely one of my favorite things to do in the summer (and probably one of the few things I'll actually get out of bed at 7 am on a Saturday morning for).

Hopefully, I'll get to share some more yard sale finds and maybe even some of my tips this summer, as I'll be living in town for an internship. So, I'll get to bike around town checking out all the yard sales or I'll go with my antique loving older brother, who lives near by - brother/sister bonding! Yay! I'm sure he'll be thrilled.
So excited!!

By the way, this lovely gal, is my roommate Amy. Isn't her sweater awesome too?

Just a Glimpse

Hope that everyone had a fantastic weekend! Mine was great: I got see my family, some friends from home, and of course go thrifting! I got to go Friday night with my mom, who dragged my dad along. :) Then Saturday, I went again with my cousin! So many giggles.

I also did not get as much school work done as I would have liked, so now I'm sitting at my desk, staring at 4 different books, trying not to rip my hair out.

So, I decided to take a break and show you a glimpse of my thrifting treasures. Although, I have to admit it isn't everything that I bought this weekend; I had to leave some things at home because I ran out of room in my weekend bag. I'll show the  other fun things when I head home again for Spring Break (12 days!)

Well, I have to get back to studying!I can't wait to share my finds soon!

Hope that everyone has a great night/day tomorrow! :)

P.S. The new template was designed by Silly Grrl  from the giveaway over at <3 Elycia that I won last week! Isn't just the cutest!? I am so happy and very grateful for the template update! Thanks gals.

Messages on the Window

Thank gosh, it is the weekend finally. Much needed after this crazy /stressful week.

I am super excited about my outfit post today a.) because its cute! b.) because the majority of it is thrifted! And that just makes me happy!

I threw on the hat as an afterthought, but I really liked how it works. When I got it, I originally thought, "oooh, this has a Miss Audrey feel to it." But, since  wearing it more, I feel more like it would be something that Stacey from the Baby-Sitters Club would wear.

Which, even though the books/TV series were made in 1990 (2 years before I was born!) I loved the Baby-Sitters Club as a kid; we had a lot of them in the house from my older sister.

What is your favorite book from your childhood? Have you ever gotten fashion inspiration from them?

Purse - Thrifted, Mulberry for Target brand. This has become my new favorite purse. It is the perfect size. Plus, it was only $2! Cheaper than Mulberry, cheaper than Target even! :)
Shoes- Free box at community yard sale day -Yeah, a free box! I grabbed them and ran, before those people realized they were CRAZY! - (originally from Fashion Bug)

The message on the window says "Learn from yesterday, live for today, and hope for tomorrow." I'm hoping  to get more pictures outside, but weather/busy schedules have really prevented it this week. So, I love the huge windows in our dorm, for some easy picture taking.

Have an awesome weekend! xoxo

Summer Memories

One more day until the weekend!  I'm heading home this weekend, which means orthodontist appointment (yuck), thrifting with my cousin, and going out to eat with my family (YAY!)

Today I'm going to share a little flashback. These pictures (except the first) were all taken last summer, by my bestie, Becky. Looking at these make me long for 80 degree weather instead of the wintry/rainy disgusting-ness, I'm experiencing today.

I bought this dress at a thrift store in the town where I go to school, that unfortunately closed last year. They had a back room full of clothes and you could fill a bag for $5. So, two friends and I would go and split a bag (or sometimes two!) When the store closed, their entire store was fill a bag for $2! This dress was one of my finds from that day; I fixed it up a little and I adore it!

Have you ever gotten something amazing from a bag sale?

Before!

After!

Movie Night

Happy Wednesday everyone!

I am feeling really tired today. Why is that you may ask? Was I up studying late last night? Was I working on blog things? Was I doing anything productive?

The answer to all those questions is "no."

I was up till 1 am watching this.

That's right folks, I was up late watching (and singing along to) Grease. I passed it while looking for the Daily Show, and I just couldn't help myself. I promptly put on my PJ's, curled up on my bed, and got lost in the drama of Rydell High.

John Travolta's insane high notes were definitely worth the sleepiness I'm feeling today. :)

What's a movie you just can't flip past?
